SMS reminders and alerts for EON customers

KUALA LUMPUR: Edaran Otomobil Nasional Berhad (EON) customers can now be reminded of their service appointments, completion of car service and their next service due date via SMS (short message service).

The service was made possible by mobile data technology enabler Macrokiosk (www.macrokiosk.com), which is working with EON to further enhance its customer service.

"The EON SMS service is basically a reminder service," said Kenny Goh, Macrokiosk chief executive officer.

He said that with this service, EON customer representatives can attend to other enquiries rather than being tied up with phone calls to remind their customers.

This service is only available at 11 of EON's largest service outlets which handle about 600 cars a day. The customers are only reminded via SMS when they agree to this mode of communication, Macrokiosk said in a statement.

The participating EON outlets are in Kepong, Segambut, Kemajuan, Pandamaran, Chan Sow Lin, Glenmarie, Prai, Georgetown, Ipoh, Seremban and Johor Baru.

"This SMS service is free to our customers at these 11 branches. We are certainly leveraging on SMS technology to enhance our customer's experience with EON," said EON managing director Datuk Adzmi Wahab.
