Since 2003, there has been constant discussion on implementation of Mobile Number Portability (MNP) in Thailand. The idea is still very much talk about and swept away to another year. Coming to year 2009, this issue is being raised again but this time it is widely expected that the MNP will be implemented by end of 2009. This policy is being questioned as the majority of Thai mobile users are using pre-paid service whom favor flexible payment option than brand loyalty. However, as always, there would be the other school of thought that supports the implementation of MNP which in hope to encourage telco's rate competitiveness. So, how will MNP being accepted then?
